Rouen, France– November 28, 2021 – Nothing but victory for Valentin Besnard (FRA) in the Grand Prix Région Normandie CSI 4* yesterday during the 2021 edition of the Equi’Seine – Jumping de Rouen CSI 4* & 2* at the Parc des Expositions de Rouen. The Frenchman teamed up with Gosse du Park to claim, perhaps, the biggest win of his career.
A total of fifty combinations lined up to face the 1.55m obstacles with eight of them advancing to the jump-off. Somehow, the course turned out to more challenging in the tiebreaker for almost all the finalists as the Frenchman and the 2011 bay Selle Français stallion (Quaprice Boimargot Quincy x Kannan*Gfe) were the only ones to go clear, doing so in 43.86 seconds for the win.
Gilles Thomas (BEL) and Luna van het Dennehof (Prince van de Wolfsakker x Quidam de Revel) registered the fastest time amongst all the participants in the jump-off, but their time of 33.50 second came at the expense of one rail down for four penalty-points, meaning that they would eventually settle for second place.
Kevin Jochems (NED) and Emmerton (Silvio I x Sam R.) were consistent once again, rounding out the top three with the same score as the previous two but a time of 35.24 seconds.
