Warsaw, Poland – November 13, 2021 – The most important class of Cavaliada Tour’s Warsaw CSI 2*-W took place yesterday to conclude the event at the Polist capital. Sunday’s Grand Prix counted for both the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Longines Rankings as well as World Cup Central European League.
The $100,000 jump-off Grand Prix CSI 2*-W (140-160 cm), run under a jump-off format, for the prize of PKO Bank Polski and unter the patronage of MTP Group is the most difficult and important class of the jumping part of CAVALIADA. The starting list saw 40 riders, including 18 representing Poland. Only two pair qualified for the jump-off: Hungary’s Zoltán Czékus (HUN) with 10-year-old Disco and home rider Jarosław Skrzyczyński (POL) with 8-year-old Quick Step. – “I did not anticipate the course to be so difficult. The fences were set high, so the horses had a lot to do, and the distances required strong cantering.” – said Skrzyczyński. Although the Pole’s jump-off time was very good (41,88), he paid for it with one knockdown. Ultimately the victory belonged to Zoltán Czékus (HUN) with Disco, who went double clear in 48,23.
“I think the first course was quite difficult, as the fences were high. I have a very big cantering horse and it is harder to ride in an indoor arena. [Disco] is very scopey, a little bit sensitive but always fights for the rider. I’m here for the second time. The Cavaliada show is amazing, the courses are very good, and the people are really friendly.” – said the winner.
Third place went to Adam Grzegorzewski (POL) with 8-year-old Stakata.
The season standing’s leader of the Cavaliada Tour rankings is Friday’s Big Round Winner Aggelos Touloupis from Greece, who finished fifth in the Grand Prix. Second place belongs to Jarosław Skrzyczyński, and Zoltán Czékus sits in third.
