Julien Epaillard & Billabong du Roumois are the Best in €95,300 Département de la Manche Grand Prix CSI 4*

Saint-Lô, France – October 24, 2021 – What a contest! Julien Epaillard (FRA) defended his title on Sunday during the Jumping International de Saint-Lô CSI 4* & 2* at the Pôle Hippique de Saint-Lô. The Frenchman rode Billabong du Roumois to be the best in the €95,300 Département de la Manche Grand Prix CSI 4*.

A total of 50 combinations lined up for the 1.55m challenge with six of them advancing to the jump-off. The Frenchman was supreme aboard the 2011 chestnut Selle Français gelding (Mylord Carthago x Papillon Rouge*Normandie), registering the fastest time amongst all the finalists while still managing to clear all the obstacles flawlessly, blazing across the finish line in 36.25 seconds.

Harry Allen (IRL) and Guinness (Nabab de Reve x Katell) did their best, coming the closest over just a second slower than the winning duo, the difference being their final time of 37.42 seconds.

Winners of the €51,100 Prix Ville de Saint-Lô & Saint-Lô Agglo CSI 4* at the same event on Friday, Wilm Vermeir (BEL) and Joyride S (Toulon x Pachat II) completed the podium despite having one pole down in the tiebreaker, registering the fastest time in the jump-off, 38.76 seconds.
