Grimaud, France – September 17, 2021 – Although victory had narrowly escaped him a few minutes earlier, Edward Levy (USA) had his revenge in the €25,400 Hubside Speed Challenge last Friday. Out of 39 participants, the Frenchman and his long standing ride Sirius Black (Calisco du Pitray x Laudanum) were fault-free, still being the fastest ones to cross the finish line in 66.69 seconds.
French trio at the top with Alexa Ferrer (FRA) and Uranie de Belcour ( Flipper D’Elle*Hn* x Diamant de Semilly) in second place in 67.31 seconds, being closely followed by a rider who will soon be leaving for Barcelona, Grégory Cottard (FRA) and Cocaïne du Val (Mylord Carthago x Si Tu Viens), timed in 67.57 seconds.
Winner’s Circle – Edward Levy (FRA)
“I’m really pleased with Sirius, he’s an exceptional horse, often in the ribbons. He’s a horse that I brought on right up to the top level and today I’m happy to see that he’s still in great form over 1.50m tracks. It was an excellent afternoon, Rebecca finishing 2nd in the 1.55m, Sirius winning the next class, it couldn’t have been better!” said the rider with enthusiasm.
“It was a relatively difficult course, usually this class isn’t quite as difficult, it was really 1.50m everywhere and rather twisty but it gave some good sport. Sirius will be jumping tomorrow and then he’ll have finished his weekend. Rebecca will be doing the Grand Prix on Sunday and Catchar will be doing the one tomorrow evening.”
