Holsteiner Elite Foal Auction Sale: Saturday Belongs to the Crème of the Crop

(Elmshorn) On Saturday, 21 August, the 64 auction candidates of the Holsteiner Elite Foal Auction will have their lives’ first big day: after having completed the vet-check in the morning their public presentation in the Herbert-Blöcker-outdoor arena starts at 1:30pm prior to the hybrid auction sale beginning at 5:00pm.

“Fortunately, the state ordinance currently in effect does not involve any restrictions whatsoever for this event, so everybody interested is welcome to come to Elmshorn”, auction manager Roland Metz is happy to say. Visitors are only requested to register with the Luca app upon entry. “There will be plenty to eat and drink, so we can look forward to an interesting afternoon with top-class foals”, Metz continues.

“Anybody unable to travel to Elmshorn in person, may also – thanks to the hybrid format – place bids through the online portal holsteiner.auction or else by phone.” Moreover, the presentation will be live streamed via ClipMyHorse.tv.

And a closer look at the candidates is worth the while! This is not only demonstrated by the most recent success stories of former auction graduates like the brand new national champion of the five-year-old eventing horses, Lillet by Livello-Calido I with Andreas Dibowski, but also by the pedigrees and relative performances of the foals rigorously selected from this year’s crop: by sires like for example Casall, Clarimo and Crack as well as Vingino, Cornet Obolensky, Quel Homme de Hus and Mumbai van de Moerhoeve, the foals’ bloodlines are fortified with valuable genes on the dams’ sides.

Like for example hip no 34, Töfte by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Caretino. This colt’s dam used to be a successful jumper to 1.45m level herself, and his second dam’s produce includes several international show jumpers like Online (Takashi Haase), Pikeur Cleveland (Michael Symmangk) or Crook (Vladimir Malak).

For those with a liking for the Holsteiner dressage horse, the lot selected by Roland Metz and his team also includes four promising foals, for example hip no 22, Bella Donna by Benicio-Dolany; her second dam, Mira G, has met with much acclaim in Holstein: Her daughter Annabelle was named team Germany’s reserve for the Tokyo Olympics with Helen Langehanenberg, moreover, Mira G is also dam to the licensed stallions De Chirico by Dolany and Amber by Ampère.
