
London, England – August 16, 2021 – Mike Kawai (JPN) and Star shone the brightest in the €25,625 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 5* during the opening day of the Longines Global Champions Tour of London CSI 5* at Royal Hospital Chelsea.
Riding the 12-year-old dark bay Hoslteiner mare (Singulord Jot x Caretino), the Japanese rider advanced to and completed the two-phase 1.45m challenge without having any penalties attributed to them, securing the victory with a time of 25.71 seconds at the end of phase two.
Second place was claimed by Evelina Tovek (SWE) and Cortina 212 (Contendro x Waechter), who matched the clean score of the eventual winners, registering a final time of 26.04 seconds for silver honors.
Three different nations claimed the top three with Andrzej Opatek (POL) and Le Cordial (Lyjanero x Singulord Joter) rounding out the top three in 26.21 seconds.
