Deauville, France – August 15, 2021 – Ioli Mytilineou (GRE) and La Perla vd Heffinck stole the spotlight on the final day of the Longines Deauville Classic CSI 3*, claiming top honors in the €52,300 Grand Prix de La Région de Normandie CSI 3* at the Pôle International du Cheval – Longines Deauville.
It was a much deserved win for the young Greek rider who has had several solid performances throughout the year. Mytilineou was supreme in the 1.50m challenge, guiding the 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare (Cooper van de Heffinck) flawlessly over all the obstacles in their two performances together, completing the decisive one in 40.42 seconds.
Edward Levy (FRA) came close to defending his title from last year but the Frenchman had to settle for second place this time. Edward rode Broadway de Mourmolin (Kannan x For Pleasure) towards silver honors, matching the double clear of the eventual winners, finishing second due to their final time of 41.70 seconds.
Bruno Garez (FRA) and United Sunheup (Balougran x Brett Saint Clair) also left all the poles up for no penalties at the end of their two efforts, rouding out the top three in 42.18 seconds.
