
Deauville, France – August 13, 2021 – Axel van Colen (FRA) and Veyron D.E. stole the spotlight on the second day of the Longines Deauville Classic at the Pôle International du Cheval – Longines Deauville at Deauville, France. The Frenchman claimed top honors in the €26,200 Prix Hermès Sellier CSI 3* on Friday.
A total of 78 combinations entered the ring to compete in the 1.50m jump-off challenge. The Frenchman guided the 12-year-old Hanoverian mare (Stakkato’s Highlight x Anton) flawlessly over all the obstacles throughout their two performances before crossing the timers in 38.89 seconds for victory in the tiebreaker.
Titouan Schumacher (FRA) and Atome Z (Amadeus Z* Brimbelles x Toulon) were right on the heels of the eventual winners, finishing only four-hundredths of a second behind.
Margaux Rocuet (FRA) and Best of Iscla complete the all-French trifecta, registering no penalties and a jump-off time of 39.08 seconds.
