Traverse City, Michigan, USA – July 16, 2021 – The MLSJ $36,600 NetJets 1.45m Speed Stake CSI2* opened up Friday’s MLSJ competition. Mexico’s Luciana Roberta Gonzalez Guerra (MEX) was the first to clear the course aboard Ehrens, a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, setting the pace at 76.300 seconds.
Fiftieth to take the ring was Ireland’s Paul O’Shea (IRL) and Chancelloress, a 12-year-old Hanoverian mare (Chacco-Blue x Balou du Rouet), turning up the heat and taking home the victory with a penalty-free performance and a time of 69.570 seconds.
Kyle King (USA) and Enzo (Verdi x Amethist) were not too off the pace set by the eventual winning pair, securing bronze honors after registering no penalties in 70.210 seconds.
Riders from three different nations claimed the top three spots in the 1.45m challenge with Rodrigo Lambre (BRA) riding Bakogan de St. Jean (Kannan x Quelmek) towards bronze honors in 70.960 seconds.
