Winner’s Circle – Marie Pellegrin (FRA)

“I’m super happy! Valentino des Bleus is really a Grand Prix or jump-off competition horse, he knows his job by heart, he loves competing so much! In the jump-off, the speeds increased gradually as riders went on. The Syrian Ahmad Saber Hamcho was very fast but I know my horse and I know he could be faster. Between the two oxers, I took seven strides where Ahmad did eight, and I tightened all the turns. Valentino has a great balance. He had been slightly injured last year, then came the confinement with the cancellation of the indoor competitions. Suddenly, I deferred him and put him in the meadow for three months with a young three-year-old horse. I left very gently, very carefully. Two weeks ago, he finished second in the Grand Prix de Cluny, and there he won this event. It’s great! “
