François Mathy Jr. & Uno de La Roque Conquer €100,000 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 4*

Grimaud – Saint Tropez, France – July 11, 2021 – For the second week in a row, Belgian got the best of France at the French Riviera near Saint Tropez. Francois Jr. Mathy (FRA) and Uno de La Roque were responsible for the feat, galloping to the top in the €100,000 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 4* on Sunday to conclude the fourth week of the Hubside Jumping‘s Summer Series at Haras des Grillons.

A total of thirty-nine combinations entered the ring to face the course designed by Cédric Longis (FRA). The Frenchman aced it as six combinations advanced to the jump-off of the 1.55m challenge, led by the winners of the €100,000 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 4* last week, Constant van Paesschen (BEL) and Isidoor van de Helle. Van Paesschen faced fierce competition as he was joined by François Mathy Jr. (BEL), Carlos Lopez (COL), Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA), Megane Moissonnier (FRA), Mathieu Billot (FRA) and Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA).

Constant van Paesschen (BEL) and Isidoor van de Helle came close to making two CSI 4* grand prix victories in two weeks at the same venue, but this time the Belgian and the 2008 Belgian Warmblood stallion (Canturo x Qredo de Paulstra) had to settle for second after a solid penalty-free jump-off effort, being timed in 44.13 seconds.

Carlos Lopez (COL) teamed up with Admara 2 (Padinus x Murano) conquering the victory for Haras des Grillons, organizers of the event, falling short by just over a second. However, the Colombian and the and the speedy dark bay Dutch Warmblood gelding (Padinus x Murano) did manage a respectable podium finish for host Sadri Fegaier earning bronze honors in 44.58 seconds.

In the end, it was Francois Jr. Mathy (FRA) and Uno de La Roque who flew the highest and were the fastest. The skilled Belgian guided the 2008 bay Selle Français gelding (Numero Uno x Kannan) flawlessly again in the jump-off, setting the winning mark in 43.18 seconds.
