Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – July 06, 2021 – A top ride will be seen carrying the Saudi Arabian colors; Valdocco des Caps (Number One D’iso x Quidam de Revel). It was prince Turki Bin Mohammed of Old Lodge who acquired the horse, adding another great horse to the Saudi best ranked athlete and former vice World Champion Abdullah Al Sharbatly (KSA).
The gelding had been competed by Guillaime Foutrier (FRA) who trained the horse since it was a youngster. In 2019 the two were superb when jumping on the French team at the Nations Cup in Aachen with a score of 0/4 – also qualifying for the Rolex Grand Prix CSI 5*. The pair also finished fourth in the Grand Prix CSI 5* in Bordeaux in February, and won the Hubside Grand Prix CSI 4* competitions in St. Tropez in April and June the same year. The 12-year-old Selle Français gelding also helped the french team to win the first place in Nations Cup CSIO 5* in St. Gallen and several other top results.
Later on that year, the horse was sold to the Irish rider, Cian O’Connor (IRL). In 2020, Sergio Álvarez Moya (ESP) jumped the gelding at an international level. In Oliva, this combination won the Grand Prix CSI 2* last year and secured third place together in the Grand Prix CSI 3* last January.
“I’m glad to have acquired this great horse who had a magnificent career and I am confident that we can win a lot together. I would like to thank Prince Turki and Tareq Taher as they are my partners in the acquisition of Valdocco and also for their sincere support. I am grateful for their great corporation and hoping we can achieve a lot of successes in the future,” Abdullah commented.
