Lake Placid, New York, USA – July 02, 2021 – Jordan Coyle (IRL) rode Boston Ask to victory in the $30,000 Adirondack Jumper Classic, Friday’s featured competition at the 2021 Lake Placid Horse Shows, Sponsored by Bainbridge Farms, and Presented by Sea Shore Stables.
One of the premier stops on the nation’s hunter-jumper horse show circuit, the 2021 Lake Placid Horse Shows, June 29-July 11, feature more than 100 classes of competition each week awarding more than $600,000 in prize money.
In the $30,000 Adirondack Jumper Classic, Coyle (IRL) was one of five entries to reach the jump-off by riding without penalty over the 15-jump first-round course designed by Alan Wade. The rider from Ireland then claimed the win by riding clean over the seven-jump tiebreaker course with the fastest time of 34.453 seconds.
“This is my first time here and I really couldn’t believe how great the field was,” Coyle said in reference to the day-long rain. “There are very few rings that can match one this even when they have perfect conditions.
“I felt I was a little slow over the first part of the jump-off so I took a chance over the last two jumps and fortunately it paid off.”
Second place went to Heather Caristo-Williams (USA) who finished the jump-off clean in 35.696 seconds on Highlander MVF. Caristo-Williams reached the jump-off with a clean first-round ride that was just .001 seconds under the time allowed.
Third place went to Dana Gattuso (USA) who finished the jump-off clean in 36.376 seconds on Halocia. Fourth went to Jonathan Corrigan with a clean ride in 40.506 seconds on Loughnavatta Indigo and fifth went to Laura Chapot (USA) who actually had the fast jump-off time of 33.119 seconds on Diarado’s Flying Dutchman but with a rail down for four faults.
