
St. Gallen, Switzerland – June 04, 2021 – Nayel Nassar (EGY) and Igor Van de Wittemoere turned on the nitro to win the €152,000 Longines Grand Prix of Switzerland CSIO 5* on Friday, one of the two feature classes during the Longines CSIO 5* of St. Gallen.
It was a great victory for the Egyptian and the 13-year-old bay Belgian Warmblood gelding (Cooper Vd Heffinck x Orlando) triumphed in the two-round contest, clearing all the 1.60m obstacles they faced during their two efforts, crossing the finish line in 45.32 seconds during the tiebreaker.
In a highly exciting second round, which was completed by 13 pairs, he beat the British rider Scott Brash (GBR) with Hello Vincent (Consul DL Vie Z x Fergar Mail), the latter two matching the clean scorecard of the eventual winners, the difference being their time of 45.41 seconds.
Philipp Weishaupt (GER) with Coby 8 (Contagio x Escudo 19) completed the podium with no penalties and a final time of 46.05 seconds.
