Rome, Italy – May 27, 2021 – Filippo Marco Bologni (ITA) and Quidich de la Chavee have a special feeling with the competition opening the Rome CSIO at Piazza di Siena. They won it in 2018, and they did it again today on the occasion of the 88th edition, conquering the De Niro BootCo Prize CSIO 5*.

The 27-year-old Carabiniere from Emilia and his 2004 chestnut Selle Français stallion (President x Apache D’Adriers) completed their course without faults in 64 seconds.

Jérôme Guery (BEL) & Great Britain V

Jérôme Guery (BEL) on Great Britain V (Nabab de Reve x Carolus II) were also clear right to the end, finishing just over 1 second and half behind, timed in 65.65 seconds.

Antonio Maria Garofalo (ITA) Presley degli Assi

The other Italian rider Antonio Maria Garofalo (ITA), at his debut in the Roman CSIO, reached them on the podium on the Italian horse Presley degli Assi (Presley Boy x Ulzhane St Winoc), registering no penalties in 66.93 seconds.

The 27-year-old Carabiniere from Emilia Romagna was overjoyed: “I’m really happy to have started off on the right foot in a Piazza di Siena that, as always, puts us in the spotlight, especially now because this is the first post-pandemic edition. Quidich de la Chavee jumped really well and I am very satisfied. Now we keep our fingers crossed for all the Italian riders to have their say in the next competitions of the show-jumping programme”.
