Steve Guerdat Claims the Gold Again – Triumphant in €95,000 MBE Grand Prix CSI 4*

Gorla Minore, Italy – May 16, 2021 – After winning the €200,000 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 5* the Sunday before, for the second week in a row, Steve Guerdat (SUI) soared to another victory in the feature contest of the week, this time in the €95,000 Mail Boxes Etc. Grand Prix CSI 4* last Sunday at the Equieffe Equestrian Centre.

A total of fifty-one combinations entered the ring for the 1.55m challenge, with 13 pairs advancing to the jump-off. The Swiss rode the 13-year-old chestnut Selle Français gelding (Flipper d’Elle*HN x Diamant De Semilly) over all the obstacles throughout the first round and tiebreaker, registering no penalties in 33.32 seconds in the decisive phase.

The second spot on the podium was conquered by the young phenom, Harry Allen (IRL), who guided Guinness (Nabab de Reve x Katell) towards two fault-free performances, the second one in 33.56 seconds.

Abdelkebir Ouaddar (MOR) and Istanbul vh Ooievaarshof (Casall x Calido I) rounded out the top three backed by a clean scorecard while stopping the final timers in 33.94 seconds.
