Fontainebleau, France – May 02, 2021 – The French flag was raised higher than all others last last Sunday during to conclude the Fontainebleau Classic CSI 2* at Le Grand Parquet. Max Thirouin (FRA) and Utopie Villelongue led an all-French podium, being victorious in the €26,000 CWD Grand Prix CSI 2*. Moreover, the nation showed strength in numbers, conquering the top six positions in the 1.45m contest.
Riding the 13-year-old chestnut Selle Français mare (Mylord Carthago*HN x Calypso d’Herbiers), the Frenchman left four other combinations in the dust in the tiebreaker, clearing all the obstacles before crossing the finish line in blazing speed to stop the timers at 37.44 seconds.
Ali Ragot (FRA) and Coldplay EJ (Zilverstar T x Kashmir van’T Schuttershof) were the closest ones, earning silver honors backed by a final time of 39.28 seconds.
Michel Robert (FRA) and Emerette (Diarado – Almerette) were right on the heels of the latter two, completing the all-French trifecta with no penalties in 39.39 seconds.
