Piergiorgio Bucci & Naiade d’Elsendam Z Turn on the Nitro to Win €51,500 Mascheroni Grand Prix CSI 3*

Gorla Minore, Italy – April 18, 2021 – Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) secured the victory for the host nation on Sunday at the Equieffe Equestrian Centre. The Italian rode Naiade d’Elsendam Z to victory in the €51,500 Mascheroni Grand Prix CSI 3*.

A total of 10 combinations advanced to the jump-off of the highly-disputed 1.50m jump-off class, including the likes of world number three Martin Fuchs (SUI) and Sergio Álvarez Moya (ESP). The Italian guided the 10-year-old Zangersheide mare (Nabab de Rêve x Quattro B), bred by François Verhulst, towards two penalty-free efforts, completing their winning round in 39.58 seconds.

Martin Fuchs (SUI) and The Sinner (Sanvaro x Landgold III) were right on the heels of the eventual winners, being nipped at the finish line only due to their final time of 39.74 seconds.

The third spot on the podium was also claimed by another Swiss rider as Elian Bauman (SUI) teamed up with Campari Z (Contact vd Heffinck x Platini M) for a double clear, securing bronze honors in 39.89 seconds.
