
Ocala, Florida, USA – January 22, 2021 – Hits Post Time Farm welcomed back horses and riders from around the world for the 40th Anniversary of the Hits Ocala Winter Circuit last week. The venue at the ‘Horse Capital of the World’ features 10 weeks of USEF-Rated Hunter/Jumper competition, now through March 28, culminating with the seventh edition of the Great American $1 Million Grand Prix.
Francois Lamontagne (CAN) piloted Chanel du Calvaire to top honors in the first major class of the week, the $25,000 Grand Prix last Friday. The Canadian and the 13-year-old chestnut mare (Luccianno x Kashmir van Schuttershof) registered the only double clear ride of the contest, securing victory in 49.961 seconds during the tiebreaker.
Aaron Vale (USA) and Prescott (Lordanos x Unknown) had a pole down for four penalty-points in the decisive phase but their time of 46.725 earned them silver honors.
Cassandra Kahle (USA) and Pyrenes de Louzes (Kannan x Ugo du Midour) rounded out the top three with a final score of four penalty-points as well, crossing the jump-off timers in 48.997 for bronze honors.
