Richard Howley Wins Battle Between Richards in Two-Phase Challenge CSI 2* at Oliva Nova

Oliva Nova, Spain – December 04, 2020 – It was a battle between two Richards to determine the winner of Friday’s €26,160 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 2* at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour with Richard Howley (IRL) having the upper hand over the rising young star, Richard Vogel (GER).

The Irishman teamed up with Chinook, a 2007 dark brown Dutch Warmblood gelding (Tygo x Wellington), advancing to and completing the second phase without registering any penalties, stopping the final timers in 30.42 seconds for the victory.

Having won two classes and had two other top four placings competing there the last week, Richard Vogel (GER) showed why he is one of the rising young stars in the sport. Vogel rode Perry KHR (Perigueux x Kolibri) towards silver honors, crossing the finish line in 31.14 seconds.

Germany honored its tradition in the sport, with another frequent winner there claiming bronze honors. David Will (GER) piloted Kentucky Jolly flawlessly through both sections of the course, rounding out the top three in 31.86 seconds.
