Grimaud, France – September 26, 2020 – After a first victory in the €100,000 Hubside Jumping Grand Prix CSI 4* last July, the Belgian Niels Bruynseels (BEL) won again on the Côte d’Azur, this time the €60,000 Grand Prix of the CSI 3* at same venue in Grimaud, during the Hubside Jumping Fall Tour.

Riding Frenchy Vds, a 10-year-old bay Westphalian mare (Cornet Obolensky x Quidam de Revel), the Belgian was flawless in the 1.50m jump-off challenge, securing the victory in 38.23 seconds.

The winner of the €200,000 Hubside Jumping Grand Prix CSI 5* last month, Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) rode Kalinka van de Nachtegaele towards second place, finishing only fifteen-hundredths of a second off the mark of the eventual winners.

Christian Ahlmann (GER), the current thirteenth in the world, completed the podium at the helm this evening of Solid Gold Z, registering no penalties and a final time of 38.64 seconds.

“Winning a Grand Prix is always nice, especially with a young mare! Frenchy is only ten years old and has very little experience at this level. She has only been with me for four months. So I’m really happy with her behavior tonight, in her first 3* Grand Prix! Winning here, among the best in the world, it’s not that easy but she did it very well! She’s naturally fast, but I have to manage her well on the track because she has a lot of blood. This victory gives us confidence. I think that Frenchy will be a very high level mare. Tomorrow, I will be accompanied by Gancia de Muze for the 5 * Grand Prix. I think the course will be difficult , technical and with a fairly short time but Gancia is incredible and she has already won a lot. Tomorrow again, I will have to do my best to ride well (laughs)! “

Après une première victoire sur le Grand Prix du CSI 4* de l’Hubside Jumping en juillet dernier, le Belge Niels Bruynseels (BEL) s’impose de nouveau sur la Côte d’Azur, dans le Grand Prix du CSI 3*  de Grimaud. Associé à la jument Frenchy Vds, il devance le Brésilien Marlon Módolo Zanotelli (BRE), lui aussi vainqueur d’un Grand Prix Hubside CSI 5* en août), en selle sur Kalinka van de Nachtegaele, et l’Allemand Christian Ahlmann (ALEN, actuel treizième mondial, aux commandes ce soir de Solid Gold Z.

“Gagner un Grand Prix est toujours agréable, surtout avec une jeune jument ! Frenchy n’a que dix ans et très peu d’expérience à ce niveau. Elle n’est chez moi que depuis quatre mois. Je suis donc vraiment satisfait de son comportement ce soir, dans son premier Grand Prix 3* ! Gagner ici, parmi les meilleurs mondiaux, ce n’est pas si facile mais elle l’a très bien fait ! Elle est naturellement rapide, mais il faut que je la gère bien en piste car elle a beaucoup de sang. Cette victoire nous met en confiance. Je pense que Frenchy sera une jument de très haut niveau. Demain, je serai accompagné de Gancia de Muze pour le Grand Prix 5*. Je pense que le parcours sera délicat, technique et avec un temps assez court mais Gancia est incroyable et elle a déjà beaucoup gagner. Demain encore, je devrai m’appliquer à bien monter (rires) !”
