Emanuele Gaudiano & Carlotta 232 Leave Dust to the Field in €30,000 Hubside Challenge CSI 5*

Grimaud, August – August 29, 2020 – A “Showdown of the Fastest”, that’s what spectators witnessed yesterday afternoon as Julien Epaillard (FRA) and Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) battled for the crown in the €30,000 Hubside Challenge CSI 5*. Gaudiano (ITA) and Carlotta 232 came out on top, laying down the gauntlet to win yesterday during the Hubside Jumping CSI 5* & 2*, held at the beautiful French Riviera.

Riding the 11-year-old bay dark bay Oldenburg mare (Chaccomo x Cento), the Italian secured victory in the 1.50m competition, a class that faults were added to the each combinations’ final score. The duo left all the poles up while registering a final time of 61.98 seconds for the victory.

Julien Epaillard (FRA) and Safari d’Auge (Diamant de Semilly x Marquise Du Grimeux) tried to give the Italian and the speedy mare a run for their money, but unfortunately they had to “eat dust” as their time of 64.67 seconds was well behind of the eventual winners.

Olivier Perreau (FRA) and GL Events Dolce Deceuninck (Toulon x Cartier van de Heffinck) completed the podium after going through the timers in 65.55 seconds.

Winner’s Circle – Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA)

“It was a speed test and Carlotta 232 is very fast. She hasn’t been very lucky the past few weeks here at the Hub Jumping. She was jumping really well but still getting a fault. Today, she finally lined up for the perfect lap with more than two seconds ahead of Julien Epaillard who is still very fast (laughs)! That he left early in the race didn’t change much for me as every time I hit the track with Carlotta I know she can go really fast no matter who is the provisional leader. I’m sure I’ll come back to Grimaud in September for the two 5* events, but we’ll see in the next few days whether I’m coming for three weeks or not.”
