Oplabbeek, Belgium – July 19, 2020 – The national flag of Ireland was seen flying high last Sunday at Sentower Park as Richard Howley (IRL) and Arlo de Blondel raced to win the €25,500 Kemperten Sporthorses Grand Prix CSI 2*.
A total of 18 combinations had qualified for the tiebreaker but only seventeen entered the ring for the decisive phase of the 1.45m challenge. Riding HK Horses‘ 10-year-old chestnut Selle Français gelding (Tlaloc M x Kassidi), the Irishman registered the fastest clean effort, going through the timers in 41.42 seconds for the victory.
Darragh Kenny (IRL) and Chic Chic (Comme IL Faut x Contendro I) were the closest ones, earning silver honors after a double clear and a final time of 42.85 seconds.
The third spot on the podium was claimed by Ann Carton-Grootjans (BEL) and Kai Lincha de Carmel (Prince van de Wolfsakker x Quidam de Revel), timed in 43.31 seconds.
