Wayne, Illinois, USA – Mathis Schwentker (GER) and NKH Caruso were the winners of the $25,000 Smartpak Grand Prix last Friday during first week of the Hits Chicago Summertime Series at the Lamplight Equestrian Center.

The German and the 16-year-old bay Oldenburg gelding (Cash And Carry x Starlight) triumphed by clearing all the obstacles in their two performances, completing the second one in 38.89 seconds.

Lauren Balcomb (USA) and Verdini d’Houtveld Z matched the winner’s double clear, finishing second in 40.78 seconds.

Johan Kachelhofer (RSA) and Carlos 691 (Catoki x Carry Gold) rounded out the top three, registering no penalties and a final time of 42.51 seconds.
