Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – June 21, 2020 – The second week of jumping here at the Summer Tour finished off today in brilliant sunshine. Already over €100,000 in prize money has been handed out here at Montenmedio and the final tally for the Tour will be over €180,000.

There were 40 entries in the Grand Prix an FEI Ranking class. Only 6 riders went clear in the first round over this tricky course and only three of these managed another clear in the jump off. In the end there was a difference of 3.56s between the winners on the podium.

Ismael García Roque (ESP) and Airline R (Avec x Cornet Obolensky) were the winners with a fast final time of just 31.58 seconds. This is the third victory for the pair at the Summer Tour and they were also the recipients of the €2,000 bonus prize that was sponsored by the online TV channel ClipMyHorse, given to the best placed Spanish rider in the class, with a subscription to the service.

García Roque is a regular competitor here at the Sunshine Tour and has around 400 international competitions under his belt. Not only that, he has been in the top three on 40 occasions and taken first place 23 times.

The other riders on the podium today were the rider from Catalonia, Joel Vallés (ESP) with the lovely Loewie, who took second place in 33.40 seconds.

Another Spanish rider, from Madrid, Santiago Núñez Riva (ESP) and Valentino de Hus Z (Vivaldi du Seigneur x Trophee du Rozel) who we have seen competing here in the Young Horse classes at the Sunshine Tour. Their time today was 35.14 seconds finishing off a great week of jumping where this pair improved with each outing.

Ismael García Roque (ESP) Cierra la Segunda Semana en Montenmedio con la Victoria en el Grand Prix del CSI 2*

Con una soleada jornada de competición cierra la segunda semana de este Tour de verano de Montenmedio que ha repartido ya más de €100.000 de premios en metálico y que la semana que viene terminará con un montante total superior los €180.000.

De los 40 binomios que participaron en el Gran Premio puntuable para el Ranking FEI, únicamente 6 terminaron el primer recorrido sin faltas para poder disputar el desempate, en el que tan sólo 3 consiguieron cerrar con el doble cero y se repartieron el podio con una diferencia de 3.56 segundos.

Ismael García Roque con Airline (Avec x Cornet Obolensky) fueron los ganadores tras ser los más rápidos en el desempate (31.58s). Esta es la tercera victoria del binomio en este Tour y además se llevan de nuevo el premio especial de 2.000€ que ha dado ClipMyHorse al mejor jinete español. García Roque es uno de los asiduos al Sunshine Tour y cuenta con cerca de 400 salidas a pista en competición internacional, de las que hasta en 40 ocasiones ha resultado entre los 3 primeros, 23 de ellas ganador.

Los otros dos clasificados fueron el catalán Joel Vallés (ESP) con Loewie (x Mariud Claudius) que clasifica en el segundo puesto con 33.40 segundos y Santiago Núñez Riva(ESP) con Valentino de Hus Z (Vivaldi du Seigneur x Trophee du Rozel) que ocupan el tercer lugar (35.14s) en una semana que este binomio madrileño sin duda ha ido a más.
