
Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – March 08, 2020 – The host nation saved the best for last as Martim Portela de Morais (POR) and Inco van den Bisschop triumphed in the €51,100 Grand Prix CSI 3* last Sunday during the sixth and final week of the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre in Portugal.
The Portuguese rider and the 12-year-old chestnut Belgian Warmblood gelding (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Cavalier) advanced to and completed the 1.50m jump-off challenge, which was also valid as a qualifier for the 2020 Olympic Games and 2021 European Championships, registering no penalties and a final time of 38.74 seconds.
Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) and Quadriglio del Terriccio (Lord Z x Baloubet du Rouet) also posted two penalty-free efforts, earning silver honors in 40.89 seconds.
Third place was claimed by Adrian Whiteway (GBR) and Cooley Network (Boswell Mr Heart Breaker x Coronado) backed by a clean scorecard, going through the jump-off timers in 41.21 seconds.
