
Wellington, Florida, USA – Wednesday, February 26, 2020 – Brianne Goutal-Marteau (USA) and Tanael des Bonnes were the winners of the evening edition of the $5,000 Premier Equestrian Welcome Stake CSIO 4* last night during the eighth of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) in Wellington, Florida, USA.
Goutal-Marteau (USA) and the Gerald Ford’s 13-year-old Selle Français gelding (Watch Me Van’t Zorgvliet x Watch Me Van’t Zorgvliet) were supreme in the speed challenge, securing the win after a penalty-free effort in 57.58 seconds.
Israel’s Alberto Michan (ISR) was the runner-up on Ictus d’Emma, the difference being their time of 60.07 seconds.
Samuel Parot Jr. (CHI) and Buga Z rounded out the top three, registering no penalties in 60.74 seconds.

WEF continues at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) through March 29, 2020, with 12 consecutive weeks of world-class competition and $13 million dollars on offer. The eighth week of competition, sponsored by Premier Equestrian, runs through March 1 and is recognized as a Nations Cup CSIO 4* by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI). Highlighting the week are the $37,000 Equinimity WEF Challenge Cup Round 8 on Thursday, the $37,000 Hermès Under 25 Grand Prix Semi-Final on Friday, and the $150,000 Nations Cup CSIO 4* during “Saturday Night Lights”, and the $214,000 Premier Equestrian CSIO 4* Grand Prix to close out the week on Sunday.
