Wellington, Florida, USA – Sunday, February 16, 2020 – Andrew Kocher (USA) and Fashion V kicked off Super Sunday with a win in the $36,600 Bruins Tour Final CSIO 5* on the last day of “Nations Cup Week” at the Palm Beach Masters Series®.
The class served as the appetizer before the $230,000 Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup CSIO 5*, but the competition was fierce. The American and Eye Candy Jumpers’ 11-year-old bay mare triumphed in the 1.45m jump-off challenge by leaving all the poles up for no penalties and completing the decisive phase in 35.04 seconds.
Tiffany Foster (CAN) and Galino (Arthos R x Kennedy) tried to give the eventual winners a run for their money, but were well off their pace, almost two seconds slower, tripping the jump-off timers in 36.99 seconds.
Roberto Teran Tafur (COL) and Gomez (Quality Time TN x Burggraaf NV) were the only other combination that registered two penalty-free performances, rounding out the top three in 38.42 seconds.
