
Sharjah, The United Arab Emirates – Saturday, February 08, 2020 – Bruce Goodin (NZL) and Backtorps Danny V closed out the H.H. The Ruler of Sharjah Cup CSI 5*-W/2* in grand fashion, winning the €150,000 H.H. Ruler of Sharjah Cup CSI 5*-W presented by Longines, a FEI Jumping World Cup™ Qualifier valid for the Arab League held last Saturday at the Sharjah Racing Club in The United Arab Emirates.
The New Zealander and the 12-year-old bay Dutch Warmblood gelding (Quasimodo Z x Lupicor) were supreme in the two-round challenge, soaring over all the 1.45m-1.60m obstacles they faced along the way of their two performances, securing the victory in 34.68 seconds.
As proven throughout the week, Christian Ahlmann (GER) and Solid Gold Z (Stakkato Gold Z x Calvin) were consistent again, finishing second due to their final time of 35.27 seconds.
Abdel Said (EGY) continued his streak of successes there too, this time by riding Alanine de Vains (Allegreto x Adelfos) to third place, backed two penalty-free efforts, the decisive one in 35.30 seconds.
