Rodrigo Pessoa & Carlito’s Way 6 Supreme in $37,000 Rushy Marsh Farm Prize CSI 2* at PBIEC

Wellington, Florida, USA – Friday, February 7, 2020 – Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA) rode Carlito’s Way 6 to victory in the $37,000 Rushy Marsh Farm Prize CSI 2* yesterday afternoon during the fifth week of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) in Wellington, Florida, USA.

The Brazilian, who is an Olympic, World and Three-Time FEI Jumping World Cup Final Champion, this time has his eyes set on a spot in the Brazilian squad that is already qualified for the upcoming 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Pessoa and Artemis Equestrian Farm’s 10-year-old Holsteiner gelding (Casall x Lordanos) overcame 8 other combinations in the 1.45m jump-off challenge, soaring over all the 1.45m obstacles they face along the way of their two performances, before stopping the timers in 41.982 seconds for the victory.

The contest featured the experience and greatness of one of the legends of the sport  versus the youth and audacity of Madison Goetzmann (USA), who rode Prestigious (Con Cento x Corofino) to second place in 42.852 seconds.

Paul O’Shea (IRL) and Skara Glen’s Chacelloress (Chacco-Blue x Balou du Rouet) were also double clear, rounding out the top three with a time of 43.104 seconds during the tiebreaker.
