Wellington, Florida, USA – January 30, 2020 – The Palm Beach Masters Series® will honor longtime supporter and friend Candy Tribble during FEI Jumping World Cup Week CSI4*-W/CSI2*, renaming the event’s Grand Prix Qualifier in her honor. The $72,900 CSI 4*-W Candy Tribble Qualifier will take place on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 at Deeridge Farms in Wellington, Florida, USA.
Tribble, a dear friend to the Palm Beach Masters Series®, Deeridge Farms, and the Jacobs Family, was a true Champion of the sport of show jumping. Developing her passion for the “art of riding” through her children, she tirelessly sat ringside and supported her family in the ring, all the way to show jumping’s biggest Championships.
Tribble was the proud owner of numerous top showjumping horses, including After Eight, Primo, Vegas, Promised Land, Special Lux, and Romantovich Take One, who, with daughter Christine McCrea in the saddle, jumped to individual gold at the 2011 Pan American Games. Tribble also served on the United States Equestrian Foundation’s Owners committee and loved watching her children, including Chris and her husband Jonathan, represent their country.
Tribble was a loyal supporter of the Palm Beach Masters Series® and loved going to Deeridge Farms. An encyclopedia of horse knowledge, she sat at Deeridge from sunup to sunset, watching every class. Being at a horse show was truly her happy place.
The Candy Tribble Qualifier CSI 4*-W will determine the top 40 that will qualify for the $213,300 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Wellington CSI 4*-W on Feb. 2. Following the class, a toast will be made in Tribble’s honor.
“Candy Tribble was a dear friend and an incredible supporter of the Palm Beach Masters Series® and the sport of show jumping,” said Lou Jacobs, Series co-founder alongside siblings Charlie Jacobs and Katie Jacobs Robinson. “We think this will be a fitting way to honor her and look forward cheering on the Candy Tribble Qualifier.”
The 2020 Palm Beach Masters Series consists of three world-class show jumping events: Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Week CSI4*-W/CSI2* (Jan. 28-Feb. 2); Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Week CSIO5*/CSI2* (Feb. 11-16); and the Palm Beach Open CSI5*/CSI2* (March 10-15).
