Paris, France – December 09, 2019 – Thierry Rozier (FRA) and Star triumphed in the €26,000 Land Rover Grand Prix CSI 2* yesterday during the Longines Masters of Paris CSI 5*/2* in France.

They were certainly among the favorites of this difficult 1.45m challenge. Nonetheless, putting in a double clear at such a fast pace we no mean feat. Cheered on by the home crowd, Rozier and his 10-year-old dark bay Holsteiner mare (Singulord Jot Oes x Caretino) delivered beautifully. The duo stopped the clock at an amazing time of 31.63 seconds, not giving the the rest of the field the merest chance to catch them.

Thierry Rozier (FRA) won ahead of an all-female quintet, with Louise Simpson (GBR) and Calvaro’s Up To Date (Calvaro F.C. x Up To Date) claiming second place afte registering no penalties and a final time of 34.21 seconds.

Bliss Heers (USA) was hot on the Brit’s heels on Antidote de Mars (Diamant de Semilly x Jarnac), backed by a clean scorecard, crossing the timers in 34.26 seconds during the decisive phase.

Winner’s Circle – Thierry Rozier (FRA)

“Star was a bit spooky at the beginning of the week-end but relaxed as the days passed. When I rode her first thing this morning, I told my groom Virginie that the mare felt on top form. The friends I met kept telling me that we were hot favorites… but faults happen all too easily” said the French rider. ‘Winning here, at the Longines Masters of Paris is a huge pleasure, first of all for my mare but also for Christophe Ameeuw, his team and the audience. Paris is my city. Finishing the year on such a good note is a fantastic boost” he added all smiles.
