Saint Lô, France – October 27, 2019 – Duarte Romao (POR) and Edesa’s Kzoom van de Wittemoere won the €54,000 Grand Prix of the Ville de Saint-Lô & Saint-Lô Agglo CSI 3* yesterday during the Meeting d’Automne at the Haras National de Saint-Lô in France.
Eight combinations had qualified for the jump-off of the 1.50m contest with the Portuguese rider and the 9-year-old bay Belgian Warmblood (Carabas vd Wateringhoeve x Upsilon vd Heffinck Z) securing the victory by being the faster of only two double clears, timed in 40.55 seconds in the decisive phase.
Pedro Junqueira Muylaert (BRA) and Prince Royal Z MFS (Prince de Revel x Ramiro Z) were the runners-up, only eleven-hundredths of a second slower than the winners.
Julien Anquetin (FRA) and Gravity of Greenhill (Nabab de Reve x Conterno-Grande) had the fastest time among all the finalists in the jump-off, but their time of 36.12 seconds came at the expense of one rail down, resulting into a score of four penalty-points and third place honors.
