El Jadida, Morocco – October 19, 2019 – The penultimate day of the third and final leg of the Morocco Royal Tour at the Salon du Cheval d’El Jadida featured two CSI 4*-W classes, with the €8,000 Prix FBP CSI 4*-W being the first one.
Iuliano Vezzani (ITA) was the designer of the 1.35m/1.40m course that saw 29 out of the original 30 combinations compete in the 1.40m speed class.
Fences were more spread out over the arena for this class, with the double right before the tribune of honor causing havoc for some combinations.
As the twentieth to go in the order, Samy Colman (MAR) and Cabanero 2 were off blazing fast, with the Moroccan guiding the 9-year-old bay Holsteiner gelding (Concetto x Caretion) to victory after a penalty-free effort in 51.01 seconds.
Thierry Goffinet (BEL) and Cadet du Ruisseau Z (Chellano Z x Carthago Z) were over three seconds slower than the eventual winners, yet earning silver honors with a clean performance in 54.43 seconds.
Zacariah Bouboh (MAR) and Cheetah 6 (Coriano x Candillo) completed the podium with no penalties, stopping the timers in 60.37 seconds.

“It’s been one month since I got the horse and it’s only my third show with him. He’s just incredible, very careful, he’s fast, smart. I think he’s a very good horse for me to jump 1.45m-1.50m speed classes. I just had to ride him smoothly because he is very nice.”
