Tétouan, Morocco – October 05, 2019 – Saturday’s feature class during the first leg of the Morocco Royal Tour CSI 4*-W provided spectators with much excitement at the Royal Guard in Tétouan, Morocco. Under the lights and with cool breeze blowing, the class offered a purse of €50,700 to the fifty-nine combinations that were originally set to challenge Iuliano Vezzani‘s (ITA) course.
Regardless of their score, the top 12 combinations moved on to the winning round with seven of them doing it so without having had any penalties. Four pairs had four penalty-points while one had a time-penalty.
Stefan Eder (AUT) and Dr. Scarpo had one pole down in the first round. However, that did not keep the Austrian and the 11-year-old grey Oldenburg (Sandro Boy x Carinue) from improving and producing the winning time after a clean run in 35.31 seconds.
Alain Jufer (SUI) and Casall were the only combination among the top three with a double clear. However, under the winning round format, they would have to settle for second place. The Swiss gave the eventual winners a run for their money, being timed only two-tenths of a second slower.
Roberto Turchetto (ITA) and Adare (Royal Bravour x Burggraaf) were consistent again, this time rounding out the top three in 36.71 seconds.
