
St. Tropez, France – September 12, 2019 – Ben Maher (GBR) is in the driver’s seat at the top of the leaderboard of the 2019 Longines Global Champions Tour standings. The Brit claimed first position after winning the €300,000 Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Rome CSI 5* last Sunday.
He has a total of 277 points, eleven points ahead of Pieter Devos (BEL). Daniel Deusser (GER) is still in the hunt for the season title as well, having tallied a score of 259 points so far. Further back is Kevin Staut (FRA) with 239 points, closely followed by Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) in fifth place after registering a total of 237 points.
There are still a maximum of points to be awarded if a riders wins the next two remaining legs of the championship series, so the five highest-placed riders are the ones in contention.
