Alexa Stais & Quintato Victorious in Grand Prix of Verden CSI 2*

2019.08.14.99.99 Verden CSI 2 GP Alexa Stais & Quintato Alexa Stais

Verden, Germany – August 11, 2019 – Alexa Stais (RSA) and Quintato won the Grand Prix of Verden CSI 2* last Sunday during the Verden International CSI 2* in Verden, Germany.

As the second starter in the jump-off with the 14-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Quidam’s Rubin x Stakkato), the South African rider set the winning mark in the jump-off, timed in 32.53 seconds awithout any penalties attributed to her.

Nine out of 35 pairs reached the jump-off of the jumping built by course director Joachim Stratmann (GER). Stratmann received great praise for his course-building – from four-year-olds to international veterans, the ranks of horses were enough for him to build suitable courses.

Since she was the only second one to go in the jump-off, the trembling began for the young rider as seven combinations would still have to go in the final round of the world ranking test, which is traditionally the highlight of the course at Verden International. She is only 22 years old, Quintato is her absolute favorite. “I brush it, go out with it, I feed and ride it,” gushes the petite South African from her best horse in the stable.

The competitors did everything to “crack” the time of the “dream team”, but even veteran Mario Stevens (GER) had to make do with his self-bred Landano in the fight against the clock, finishing second due to their time of 33.66 seconds. Stais and Quintato had been too fast and too agile had been.

Third place was claimed by Patrick Stühlmeyer (GER) and Chacgrano, an internationally well known couple, finished just two-tenths of a second behind the latter two.

Tina Deuerer (GER) from Baden-Württemberg finished her debut at Verden International with Clueso in fourth place. The show jumper from Eppelheim openly confessed her enthusiasm for the international event in the Reiterstadt
