Paris, France – July 05, 2019 – As the sun started to set on the city of love twelve fearless combinations came forward to take on the €40,000 Six Bar challenge CSI 5* presented by Renault and Mairie de Paris. Emil Hallundbaek (DEN) took the win, with the final jump at an incredible 1.95m in height. Second place was shared between four top names in the sport.

Shane Breen (IRL) and Clyde V set the standard and produced the first clear in round one soon followed by four-time LGCT Grand Prix winner Christian Ahlmann (GER) and Dolocia. The only combination to pick up faults in the first round was Julien Epaillard (FRA) and Queeletta who knocked the last down meaning they wouldn’t be returning.

Eleven came forward for round two of the Renault Six Bar but only seven produced another clear over 1.65m. The last fence fell for Shane Breen (IRL), Karel Cox (BEL) and Michael Duffy (IRL) while Michael Whitaker (GBR) finished with the most amount of faults after having two down on Freud del Cabanon Cavalier – Pro.

Round three saw the last fence go up 20cm to 1.85m. Seven horse and rider combinations attempted the round with five jumping clear including french riders Philippe Rozier (FRA) and Olivier Perreau (FRA). Abdel Said (EGY) cleared the tallest fence on the course but the second to last came tumbling down. Bart Bles (NED) and his big grey Fleuri L were also knocked out after the last fence fell in the Renault Six Bar.

The tension rose around the arena while the course was built for round four and the last fence set to a huge height of 1.95m. Christian Ahlmann (GER), Jur Vrieling (NED) and Olivier Perreau (FRA) couldn’t clear the final jump causing them to be knocked out. The second to last fell for well-supported Frenchman Philippe Rozier (FRA) and Vincy du Gue and the only clear round went to young gun Emil Hallundbaek (DEN) and Cool Hand Luke 3 who won the Renault Six-Bar in style by clearing all of the jumps with ease.
