Calgary, Alberta, Canada – June 15, 2019 – Eugenio Garza Perez (MEX) and Contago won the $25,000 ATCO Cup CSI U-25 yesterday during the ‘Continental’ at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada.

The North American Ring welcomed eighteen horse/rider combinations in the ATCO Cup U25. The competition required riders to jump a clear round one in order to qualify for the jump off round. Three young riders did just that, including Spruce Meadows rider Kylie Figueira (CAN) abroad Kayenne Z.

First to go in the jump off was Lexi Ray (CAN) and Jewel 8 (Kannan x Indoctro) and  posted a clear ride with a time of 43.48 seconds to put pressure on remaining riders, Kyle Figueira (CAN) and Eugenio Garza Perez (MEX).

Kyle Figueria (CAN) and Kayenne Z (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Calando I) followed posting a clear ride of 43 seconds flat to take the lead but it would not last long.

Eugenio Garza Perez (MEX) and Contago, a 8-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Cornet Obolensky x Cassini II) sailed over the final jump to the finish line clear with a time of 41.98 seconds to secure the win.
