Calgary, Alberta, Canada – June 15, 2019 – Arturo Parada Vallejo (MEX) and Cassidy Z won the $36,100 Friends of the Meadows Cup CSI 5* yesterday during the ‘Continental’ at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada.

The North American Ring had a full schedule Saturday of the ‘Continental’ CSI 5* Tournament starting with the one round Friends of the Meadows Cup in the morning. FEI Course Designer Tom Holden (IRL) laid out the 1.45m obstacles on the course that thirty competitors put forth their best effort in an attempt to make it to the winner’s circle.

Arturo Parada Vallejo (MEX) was on point yesterday aboard the eight year-old Zangersheide gelding, Cassidy Z (Cassito x Quintero). The pair put forth a clear quick ride with a time of 67.30 seconds making it their second win of the 2019 Spruce Meadows Summer Series.

Darragh Kenny (IRL) and Sweet Tricia (Berlin x Tampa) also left all the poles up for a clean scorecard, earning silver honors in 67.73 seconds.

Eve Jobs (USA) and Charleville (Quasimodo Z x Lancelot) completed the podium with no penalties and a time of 68.58 seconds.
