Brian Moggre & MTM Flutterby Master the Field in the First $36,100 Friends of the Meadows Cup CSI 5* at Spruce Meadows

Calgary, Alberta, Canada – June 13, 2019 – Brian Moggre (USA) and MTM Flutterby won the $36,100 Friends of the Meadows Cup CSI 5* yesterday during the ‘Continental‘ at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada.

The North American Ring welcomed forty-eight combinations to the ring for the first of two Friends of the Meadows Cup classes. Last week at the ‘National‘ presented by Rolex, young Brian Moggre (USA) stepped into the winners circle for the first time and yesterday he would get the opportunity to do it again.

Over the two phase competition, Moggre and the twelve-year-old chestnut Dutch Warmblood mare the jumped a clear phase one and immediately proceeded to phase two where they produced repeated the feat along with the fastest time of 26.08 seconds for the victory.

Arturo Parada Vallejo (MEX) and Cornet’s Dream (Cornet Obolensky x Cordobes I) also advanced and completed the second phase without having any penalties attributed to them, securing second place in 26.53 seconds.

Philipp Weishaupt (GER) and Livestream 2 (Lordanos x Lundebel) rounded out the top three backed by a penalty-free effort down to the finish line, stopping the final timers in 27.68 seconds.
