Maubeuge, France – May 10, 2019 – The seesaw battle back and forth between France and Belgium for most victories continued yesterday during the Jumping International de Maubeuge CSI 3*.
Dominique Hendrickx (BEL) and Vintadge de La Roque gave bragging rights to the Belgians by claiming first place in the most important class there so far, the €25,000 Credit du Nord Prize CSI 3*.
Hendrickx and the 10-year-old bay Selle Français gelding (Kannan x Galoubet A) overcame 65 other combinations in the 1.50m jump-off class, registering no penalties in 38.26 seconds during the tiebreaker.
The home nation had one of their own earning silver honors as Jérôme Hurel (FRA) and As de Mai (Apache x Kannan*GFE) completed their jump-off performance without having penalties attributed to them, going through the final timers in 39.39 seconds.
Belgium was back on the podium after Rik Hemeryck (BEL) and Ulyss Morinda completed their jump-off run with no penalties in 39.64 seconds.
