Hagen, Germany – April 28, 2019 – Horses & Dreams meets France finished with a super exciting round of jumping, the €100,250 Deutsche Kreditbank AG Grand Prix CSI 4*, also the first leg of the Bemer Riders Tour. And it was by no means easy to jump a clear round today, only five combinations went clear, among them Ludger Beerbaum (GER) and Casello.
However, the 13 best riders of the first round were allowed to compete in the winning round and so riders that had a fault in the earlier course also had a chance to win. And the final round was tough. Beerbaum praised the winner, “I think I could have tried the course three times today, but Katrin Eckermann (GER) was simply unbeatable.” Riding the ten-year-old Caleya, Eckermann took it easy in the first round and accepted a penalty point, “to keep the horse calm” – The calm before the storm you could say, the pair nailed each turn and distance as well as each fence in the final round.
The German and the 10-year-old chestnut mare (Calido I x Lancer II) was both clear and deceptively fast in the second round, securing the victory in 50.06 seconds.
The competition had no chance. Second place went to a representative of the partner country, Julien Anquetin (FRA) on Gravity Of Greenhill (Nabab de Reve x Conterno-Grande) were the runners-up, registering no penalties in 51.94 seconds in round 2.
Ludger Beerbaum (GER) and Casello (Casall x Carolus I) claimed third place after a two penalty-free efforts, the second one in 53.25 seconds.
Katrin Eckermann (GER) has taken the provisional lead in the BEMER Riders Tour, the next leg is in Redefin.
65,000 spectators found their way to Horses & Dreams Meets France despite the wild April weather; 5,000 spectators alone enjoyed the Gala-Show “Vive la France“ presented by tv Hören & Sehen. The partner country for 2020 has already been announced, Japan. The 2020 Horses & Dreams Meets Japan equestrian festival will take place from 22-26 April at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen a.T.W.
