
Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – March 20, 2019 – Anouk de Ruijter (NED) and Huepens Conquestador won the €25,000 Young Horses European Cup – Seven-Year-Olds Final yesterday during the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour CSI 3* at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre in Quarteira, Faro, Portugal.
The Dutch rider and the 7-year-old bay Oldenburg gelding (Chin Chins Erbe x Grosso) secured the victory in the 1.45m contest by being the only combination to leave all the poles up at the end of their two rounds, completing the second one in 77.13 seconds.
Faye Schoch (SUI) and Essex were much faster in the round 2, but their time of 70.83 seconds came at the expense of having one rail down for four penalty-points, finishing second as the fastest four-faulters.
Laura Renwick (GBR) was on the podium once again, finishing third aboard Maverick (Diamant de Semilly x Heartbreaker) after having the same score as the runners-up, being timed in 71.08 seconds during the tiebreaker.
