The ¡HOLA! Trophy never disappoint all the fans who want an appetiser of what will be a weekend of competition loaded with emotion thanks to the best riders in the international ranking.
The first CSI 5* class of this VI edition of IFEMA Madrid Horse Week CSI 5*-W had an international podium, in which Luca Maria Moneta (ITA) was crowned the winner. The Italian that everyone knows as “The Carrot Man” made a spectacular journey riding Amethyse du Coty. The Italian and the 8-year-old bay Selle Français mare (Diamant de Semilly x Quidam de Revel) were victorious in the €25,000 1.45m speed class, registiering no penalties in 55.83 seconds for the victory.
He was closely followed by Pius Schwizer (SUI) aboard Balou Rubin R (Balou du Rouet x Couleur-Rubin), who was only seven-dundredths of a second slower.
Third was François Mathy Jr, (BEL) who had a very clean performance throughout the course, riding Casanova de L’Herse (Ugano Sitte x Kashmir van Schuttershof) to a time of 56.14 seconds.
The public was lamenting with Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA), the winner of this same event in the previous edition, when his mare Carlotta knocked down the last obstacle, taking the Italian completely away from the podium. Emanuele stopped the clock in a time of 52.50 seconds, that nobody would be able to beat.
