The second day of competitions of the Belgian Senior Jumping Championships took place yesterday during the Zangersheide FEI / WBFSH World Breeding Jumping Championships at the Zangersheide venue in Lanaken, Belgium. Exactly 10 combinations jumped a clear round in the second round, a class that accumulated penalties and time to the final score. The course was set over a height of 1.50 meters with 12 obstacles and 14 jumps in which especially the time turned out to be a major factor.
As the leader of the first day, Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) and J’Adore van het Schaeck (Vagabond de La Pomme x Darco) jumped a clear round which means they keep their first place with no penalty-points. Jeroen Appelen climbed to the second place with Grappeloup van het Reenhof (Billy Jean x Larino) thanks to another clear round, and a total score of 0.25 penalty points over both days. The duo is closely followed by Christophe Vanderhasselt who currently stands at 0.66 penalty points with Identity Vitseroel (Air Jordan Z x Darco). Jérôme Guery and Kel’Star du Vingt Ponts (Kannan) are tentatively fourth with 1.38 penalty points while Frederic Vernaet and Just A Gamble (Toulon) close the top five with a total score of 1.50 penalty points.
