Cian O’Connor (IRL) has taken over the reins of Gudrun Patteet’s (BEL) Sea Coast Atlantic after having acquired the gelding from the Belgian rider. Together, Patteet and the 12-year-old Belgian Sport Horse gelding (Schilling x Aramis de la Cense) have claimed several major wins, including two CSI 5* classes recently.
Over the past three months, they won the €25,100 Boygues Immobilier Prize CSI 5* during the Jumping International de France – CSIO 5* de La Baule in France and the €92,500 AXIM SA Project Management Lugano Prize CSI 5* during the Longines Ascona CSI 5* last month in Ascona, Switzerland.
The Belgian rider made the following statement on her official Facebook account:
Some goodbeyes are harder than others…
“Today Sea Coast Atlantic has left our stable .
He has been my partner and best friend for the last 6 years. Together we became world champion 7yo horses, we won the 4* Grand prix of Ascona , won many classes at 5* shows all over Europe and jumped a clear round in the world cup of Mechelen..
we are proud to say that we sold this amazing horse to one of the best riders in the world.”
“We wish Cian O’Connor (IRL) all the best with ‘Atje’.
Goodbeye my friend and thank you for everything…
We will miss you”
