
Eric Lamaze (CAN) & Saura de Fondcombe won the $70,200 1.50m Canadian Utilities Cup CSI 5* last Saturday during ‘The Continental’ at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The Canadian and the 12-year-old Selle Français mare (Balou du Rouet x Paladin des Ifs) toppped forty-two other combinations in the 1.50m challenge by leaving all the poles up throughout their two performances, completing the jump-off with no penalties in 35.380 seconds.
Second place was claimed by Daniel Coyle (IRL) & Quintin (Auaprice x Emilion) after registering their second penalty-free effort, going through the timers in 36.070 seconds.
Antonio Maurer (MEX) & Chacstara (Chacco-Blue x Cento) rounded out the top three backed by a clean scoresheet, stopping the timers in 36.530 during the tiebreaker.
