Marcus Ehning (GER) & Firth of Lorne won the Championat of Nörten-Hardenberg CSI 3* yesterday during the first leg of the Masters League in Nörten-Hardenberg, Germany.
The legendary German rider and the 14-year-old chestnut Hannoverian stallion (Flashlight x Stakkato) claimed a brand new Mitsubishi after winning the class as the only combination that registered two penalty-free performances over the two rounds of the 1.50m jump-off challenge, completing their second outing in 45.49 seconds.
Finja Bormann (GER) & A Crazy Son of Lavina (Azzuro Classico 2 x Lavall) were much faster, but their blazing final time of 39.41 seconds was at the expense of one rail down, meaning that they would have to settle for second place.
Emile Karin Fares (LBN) & Captain Z (Lord Z x Niveau) took bronze honors with four penalties and a time of 43.82 seconds during the tiebreaker.
