Martin Fuchs (SUI) & Clooney won the CHF $330,000 Longines Grand Prix of Basel CSI 5* yesterday during the Longines CSI Basel 5* in Switzerland. It was a thriller right down to the wire as Fuchs and the 12-year-old grey Westphalian gelding (Cornet Obolensky x Ferragamo) were the last ones to face the challenging 1.60m maximum-height obstacles set on the jump-off course, overcoming all of them and crossing the finish line in 38.70 seconds for a thrilling victory before their countrymen.
Werner Muff (SUI) & Daimler
Werner Muff (SUI) & Daimler (Canturano x Lupicor) led right down to the wire, giving the home crowd a 1-2 finish by guiding the 10-year-old bay Dutch Warmblood mare to a second fault-free run in 39.64 seconds.
Simon Delestre (FRA) & Chesall Zimequest
Simon Delestre (FRA) & Chesall Zimequest (Casall x Concerto 4) earned bronze honors as the only other combination with a clean scorecard, going through the timers in 41.91 seconds during the tiebreaker.
